Below is a comment on what the United States has to do to keep moving forward, and not dissolve into just another socialist mess. Rick Gray sent this to us, and I hope you read it well, because it makes sense.
Our only hope is in the core values and knowledge of the American people. Yes, people deserve the government they have - they voted, they stayed home, they ignored facts and character, they got what they "deserved". The only redeeming quality of a democratic republic is the ability and infrastructure for change, for correcting mistakes sooner or later, and for accepting responsibility for the consequences of their actions.
We have let our society go to wrack and ruin - witness the overwhelming apathy towards the complete debasement of marriage and the family, and to the continued thoughtless practice of abortions regardless the trimester, regardless the viability of the unborn child. Society has to preserve the family and to respect life in order to possess genuine values and morals, and in order to pass them onwards to new generations. I cannot condemn those who get abortions, at least very early term abortions. I respect those who imitate marriage in long-term single-sex relationships - they are trying to re-create a semblence of true marriage. After all, marriage came before government - it is the natural state of mankind in any durable society. Women and mothers have to be protected and cherished. Children have to be nutured and prepared to be adult members of society. And society must reproduce itself both physically and in all other ways. Without protection for marriage and the family, society will eventually run down like a motor without oil.
Money is the storehouse of a society - the means by which we can live at peace and in cooperation with each other. There can be no more valuable social creation than a stable and widely accepted currency. We are not too late to save our money and to restore stability and vitality to our national and world economies. But, we must use faith and confidence, and hard work, to take the necessary political and economic steps to save ourselves. A worthless dollar will mean that all individuals in America will essentially be equally worthless. That is anarchy and the recipe for violence revolution. We all have good reason to fear the fear-mongers, to dread the future dictators in waiting, and to avoid the silly demogogues who will promise anything merely to get attention and with no regard for the consequences. Yes, America can become a new Nazi Germany, or any other absolute dictatorship you want to imagine. Anarchy is the necessary step for a time-tested democratic Republic to fail. So, we have to protect marriage, preserve the family, maintain the value of the dollar, and vote out all these ignorant and dangerous politicians who have failed at their jobs.
I'm going to write "Vote Repub" on my palm on election day to make sure I don't accidentally vote for a Democrat. And I used to be a Democrat...! I don't believe all Republicans are so much better than the Democratic politicians. But a huge electroral tsunami is the quickest and most peaceful way to convinve the majority of politicians to again respect the voters and to work to preserve the Republic. We are still the shining city on the hill, the last best hope for mankind, and the greatest experiment known to History. I see no other choice and no other viable or worthwhile course of action.
Gold, ammo, etc may be good measures for individual and family last ditch safety measures. But, voting and insisting on respect for electoral results, these are the best weapons to use now. I hope and pray we will not come to the final desperate choices of gold and ammo....
