Mr. Know It All

Garelli 150 Gladiator

My new bike

By vic krause

I purchased a Garelli 150 Gladiator 150cc Scrambler from Dave Bickers for a very good price, and need to know of the parts availability for this fine machine. It runs, but the clutch slips quite badly, and it also makes some rather odd “ticking” noises from the cylinder head area. Is this bike a collector’s item? The chap I purchased it from said that this model Garelli launched Nino Farbuti’s short but thrilling career in closed course competition in Verona, Italy back in the 1970 season. Anything you can do to get this once fine machine back into shape would be appreciated kind sir.

Cheers,

My dear Alvis, You should have checked here first before you laid down your hard earned Sterling for that Gladiator. The fact that Mr. Bickers gave the very details you ask about would have clued you in to the fact that the Garelli you now own is a Pink elephant. My advice to you would be to follow Mr. Bickers lead and sell it post haste. There is no real value to this bike, there are really no servicable parts to repair it and even if you did, it's retail value would be somewhere in the worthless realm. You really should have known.
